Change -New Family Night - August 30th (6-7:30 pm)
Update - We have made a change to the August Family Night that will be taking place at RHMS on Monday evening beginning at 6:00 pm in the RHMS Gym. We have modified the event to focus specifically on the needs of parents/guardians who are new to Rose Hill Middle School. This change was made to reduce the overall number of visitors for spacing and social distancing purposes.
We will be meeting in the gym to introduce the administrative team and to talk about the middle school experience specifically at RHMS. Afterwards there will be opportunities to meet and greet Rose Hill teachers and support staff, get questions answered, as well as take care of some of the Prep Day items if you were not able to attend Prep Day this week. We will also provide opportunities to tour the school. Masks are required for everyone inside the building.
First Day of School-Staggered Start
The first day of school is Wednesday, September 1st. We will have a staggered start with 6th graders beginning at the regular school start time of 8:00 am, and the 7th and 8th graders beginning two and a half hours later at 10:30 am. For those students who ride the bus, there will be a regular run in the morning for 6th graders and a second run 2.5 hours later.
After an opening activity, 6th graders will be meeting with WEB Leaders (7th and 8th grade student leaders) who will engage them in small group team building and get-to-know-you activities as well as take them on a tour of the building to find out where their classes are.
When the 7th and 8th graders arrive, there will be a welcoming activity and then all students will go through their schedules and meet with each of their classes as well as have a lunch period. The regular bell schedule begins on Thursday, September 2nd.
Student Class Schedules
Our amazing team of counselors (6th grade-Veronica Nelson, 7th grade-Danielle MacDonald, & 8th grade-Carolyn Stelling) have been working feverishly scheduling students into their classes. This complicated process is on-going, but our plan is for individual student schedules to be available for viewing in Skyward on Tuesday evening. Students will also be receiving a hard copy of their schedule if they want one when they arrive at school on the first day.
