RHMS PTSA awarded over $11,300 in mini grants for 2019-20. Grant awards funded a Gaga Pit for the PE department, Art club materials, STEM Puzzles and Brainteasers for Math classes, a Farm-to-Plate pilot program for culinary classes, foreign language library books and more ! From Fundraising: Thank you to all the students who turned in the City of Redmond’s October Walk to School calendar. RHMS PTSA collected 212 calendars, which equates to $1,060 that will be used for PTSA-sponsored events at the school. Our next fundraiser will be a dining out event in January. Thank you volunteers! Many thanks to our volunteers Jill Dean and Amy Lettice for putting together a beautiful "Griller's Delight" basket for the LWPTSA scholarship program's fundraiser. Each year PTSAs in our district donate themed baskets which are auctioned in the first week of December to help support scholarships for graduating LWSD seniors. School Pool Program benefits RHMS PTSA
In October and May, RHMS PTSA partners with the City of Redmond to participate in their School Pool program. This program encourages kids to walk, bike, carpool or bus to school. Calendars are going home with the students this week for them to keep track of how they get to and from school every day during that month. Completed calendars need to be turned in by October 31st to be eligible for prizes. In exchange for every completed calendar turned into the school, the City of Redmond will donate $5 to RHMS PTSA. From the RHMS website: Rose Hill supports literacy by providing a summer reading program for all students. Our students get a head start in the fall by coming prepared to discuss books they have read over the summer, and can immediately begin the process of literary analysis. Specific grade level requirements are provided through the links below. Reading lists for 6th-8th graders have been broken into three categories, depending on grade level. Reflections is a National PTA art competition that provides students with an opportunity to express themselves creatively based on their interpretation of the current year's theme. Students may submit original entries in any of 6 categories. There is also a Special Artist division for students with disabilities. Entries are judged by a panel of local professionals, on guidelines given by National PTA.
